Fujifilmの新しく発売されたX-S20を見に行ったら良かった。
カメラは納得のいく写真が撮れてなんぼ。出来の良い写真は、撮った枚数と獲れ高（割合）のかけ算で決まり、撮った枚数はカメラを持ち出した回数で決まります。使わないカメラは防湿庫の肥やしで納得写真には貢献しません。私のようにスナップを撮る人間にとっては、カメラの軽さが持ち出しやすさに影響します。写真を撮る予定のないお出かけ、例えば上野の美術館に行く、新宿に映画を見に行く、そんなときにカメラを持って行くか行かないかで納得写真の枚数が変わります。
記録写真と印象写真。ライフログやコミュニケーションのために撮る写真はスマホが便利です。銀座に行ってカフェでこんなの食べたという写真を撮るのは楽しい。リア充と取られないよう気にしつつも友人と写真を共有するのもコミュニケーションツールとして便利です。こういった記録写真とは別に風景から受けた印象を撮りたいときがあります。大きなビルだなぁとか、広いなぁとか、渋いなぁとか。見たままにシャッターを切ることは、見たままを撮ることになりません。例えば、動いていることを写したくても、ただシャッターを切ると止まったものが写るだけです。印象を撮るときは少しの工夫が必要です。
X-S20を持ったとき、とても軽く感じました。本体491gにレンズ(XC15-45mm)135gは抜群に軽い。カメラ本体のグリップが深くて持ちやすいのも良い。ところで、レンズXC15-45mmは安価なのに異常に評判の良いレンズです。
自分の中で、X-S20の評価が高まった。

A camera is only as good as the photos it takes. The quality of the photos depends on the number of shots, and the number of shots depends on how often you take out your camera. A camera that you don’t use is just a waste of space in your cabinet and doesn’t contribute to satisfying photos. For someone like me who takes snapshots, the lightness of the camera affects how easy it is to carry around. The number of satisfying photos changes depending on whether you take your camera with you or not when you go out without planning to take photos, such as going to a museum in Ueno, going to see a movie in Shinjuku, and so on.
Record photos and impression photos. Smartphones are convenient for taking photos for lifelogging and communication. It’s fun to take photos of what you ate at a cafe in Ginza. It’s also convenient to share photos with your friends while being careful not to be seen as a show-off. Apart from these record photos, there are times when you want to capture the impression you get from the scenery. Things like, wow, that’s a big building, or wow, that’s wide, or wow, that’s cool. Cutting the shutter as you see it doesn’t mean you’re taking what you see. For example, if you want to capture something that’s moving, just cutting the shutter will only capture something that’s stopped. You need a little bit of ingenuity when you want to capture an impression.
When I held the X-S20, I felt very light. The body 491g with lens (XC15-45mm) 135g is exceptionally light. The grip of the camera body is deep and easy to hold. By the way, the lens XC15-45mm is a cheap lens but has an abnormally good reputation. In my mind, I rated the X-S20 highly.
